A Statement About COVID-19

Coronavirus (COVID-19) - ICAST Response

March 16, 2020

  1. All ICAST team members are asked to consider how to best protect themselves, their teammates, our clients, their residents, and subcontractors from spreading the COVID-19 virus, by common-sense measures as well as guidelines that the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention advises, in which all ICAST team members will:
    1. Not shake hands.
    2. Not share drinks or food.
    3. Stay home if they have respiratory symptoms (coughing, sneezing, shortness of breath) and/or a temperature above 100.4 F.
    4. Stay at home if any member of their household becomes ill with any of the symptoms listed above.
    5. Leave work if they develop these symptoms while at the workplace.
    6. Not return to work unless they have been tested for the COVID-19 virus and such a test is negative.
    7. Shield coughs and sneezes with a tissue, elbow, or shoulder (not the bare hands).
    8. Wash hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds or use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer.
    9. Wear PPE to include; booties, safety eyewear, gloves, and dust masks when entering residences or close spaces with multiple people in close proximity (keep a safe 6’ distance from other people).
    10. Disinfect all touched surfaces during the energy efficiency measure install before departing the premises.
  1. ICAST team members will:
    1. Ask our clients including property managers and owners, if ICAST can conduct energy efficiency services at this time.
    2. If yes, our ICAST team members and subcontractors will always knock and inform residents as to who we are, explain the work we wish to perform, and always ask residents for permission to enter their home to perform work before entering.
    3. Ask if any residents are currently sick, or if you recognize any residents who are presently sick, make a note and let them know to inform their property manager when it would be good to return to conduct our work.
    4. Inform both the clients and the residents that it is customary for our workers to wear Personal Protective Equipment known as PPE to not only help prevent injury as they work by wearing protective eyewear, booties, gloves, and dust masks, and to avoid leaving dirty footprints, handprints, dirt or debris behind.
    5. If clients or residents are not comfortable with ICAST entering residences or working on common areas during this time, ICAST staff will respect personal sensitivities to the current situation and exit.
    6. Inform our clients immediately if any staff member or our subcontractor that has performed any services at a property, tests positive for the COVID-19 virus after the date of such work, including the date and time the work was performed, the location where the work was performed, including unit numbers if applicable, and the duration of such work.
    7. Maintain detailed records regarding what properties ICAST team members or our subcontractors are worked at and what units or commons areas any such team member, independent contractor or subcontractor have entered on the property.
    8. Prohibit any team members and subcontractors from working on a property if they have tested positive for the COVID-19 virus.
    9. Limit the number and duration of visits and communication with on-site staff and communicate via email and telephone whenever possible to coordinate service visits, unit vacancy, and unit access.
