ICAST Approved by CNCS to be VISTAs Host Site
ICAST has partnered with the Corporation for National Community Service (CNCS) as an AmeriCorps Volunteers in Service to America (VISTA) host site. ICAST has been approved by CNCS to host 5 full time VISTAs over the next year to help build its capacity in serving low-income communities and fighting poverty.

Solar and nuclear energy have long been viewed as the “energy sources of tomorrow”. When it comes to widespread adoption, nuclear has enjoyed the advantage of a head start in terms of mass uptake. The Obninsk Nuclear Power Plant southwest of Moscow in the former USSR is credited with being the world’s first nuclear power plant, coming online the 26th June 1954. But for a variety of reasons, since then nuclear’s progress has often stalled and stagnated in many nations.

ICAST and Rocky Mountain Power Renew Contract
ICAST has implemented the Rocky Mountain Power Wattsmart Multifamily Program since 2018 and recently renewed our contract for an additional two years covering 2021 and 2022. This will expand the program budget by 48% in order to reach more multifamily properties.
NASA Scientists Complete First Global Survey of Freshwater Fluctuation
To investigate humans’ impact on freshwater resources, scientists have now conducted the first global accounting of fluctuating water levels in Earth’s lakes and reservoirs – including ones previously too small to measure from space. The research, published March 3 in the journal Nature, relied on NASA’s Ice, Cloud and land Elevation Satellite 2 (ICESat-2), launched in September 2018. They sent 10,000 laser light pulses every second down to Earth.
