ICAST Staff Recognized for Accomplishments in Improving Buildings’ Efficiency: ICAST is thrilled to announce that Ryan Kristoff, our Vice President of Grant Programs, has received an award from the American Council for an Energy-Efficient Economy (ACEEE). ACEEE’s Champions of Energy Efficiency in Buildings awardees are chosen for their innovation, impact, and leadership. Ryan has been recognized in the Young Professionals category for his work in influencing the federal Weatherization Assistance Program (WAP) to expand services for low-income households in multifamily affordable housing (MFAH).
Historically, State WAP Administrators and their service providers focus on single-family properties, offering limited (if any) services for MFAH. Under an Enhancement and Innovation grant from the U.S. Dept. of Energy, Ryan spearheads ICAST’s efforts to redesign the WAP to be more inclusive of MFAH while deploying distributed energy resources. Further, since the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL) was signed into law, he has been engaging WAP Administrators across the U.S. to develop and launch over $200 million in statewide, MFAH-focused programs that are scalable, replicable, cost-effective, and highly impactful for low-income families.
Congratulations to Ryan for this honor. In his time at ICAST, Ryan has grown the organization by securing funding and partnerships to build new programs, expand to new geographies, and add new solutions to our one-stop-shop suite of services. He has secured hundreds of contracts from various industry and government partners, helped increase our staff to over 100 employees, added to our service territories, and helped establish ICAST as the premier service provider for the MFAH market.
Updated Resource Guide for the Multifamily Community: ICAST is pleased to announce that we have updated the Resource Guide we produced last year, designed to help the MFAH market access funds from the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) and BIL. The Guide provides key information for leveraging grant funds, tax credits, rebates, and other incentives to achieve very high-performing properties. Updates include:
- New agency guidance on the IRA- and BIL-funded programs
- Key dates and deadlines for funding buckets
