Multifamily Weatherization Assistance Program
ICAST has been selected by the Maine State Housing Authority (Maine Housing) as the WAP implementer.
Request for Application
Maine Housing operates the Multifamily Weatherization Assistance Program (WAP). WAP is designed to help low-income households control their energy costs by installing weatherization materials and providing education on how to manage energy consumption. Property owners and managers can access these funds to improve their properties’ efficiency, health, and functioning, directly benefitting residents and aligning with WAP goals.

How it Works
Step 1: An energy audit of the property is conducted to identify needs;
Step 2: The property is weatherized; and
Step 3: The property is inspected to ensure the quality of work completed.
Eligibility Requirements
□ Subsidized multifamily properties with HUD project-based subsidies, Public Housing, Low-Income Housing Tax Credits (“LIHTC”), or USDA-RD.
□ Or multifamily properties with a minimum of 66% of their tenants with an income at or below 200% of the Federal Poverty Level.
Please note that the program is first-come-first-served, and there may be a waiting list due to high demand.
