Ravi Malhotra

Founder and President

Ravi is an experienced engineer and social entrepreneur who has established a variety of enterprises in India, Africa and the US with an emphasis on sustainable technologies. He is currently focused on finding financially sustainable models to solve the U.S. affordable housing crisis while tackling climate change through the efforts of ICAST and TBL Fund. Ravi holds a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology and Master’s degrees in both Engineering and Business Administration from the University of Texas at Austin.

Susan Hom

Executive Assistant

Sue has many years of experience working in community relations with a global financial services corporation, including work in their Foundation and its Environmental Affairs unit. This experience gave her the opportunity to learn about the importance of sustainability. In that vein, Sue is pleased to work at ICAST in helping to further its goals.

Brandon Koyanagi

Energy Engineer

Brandon received his Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Southern Illinois University of Edwardsville. Upon graduation, Brandon joined an energy evaluation firm as a Field Engineer, primarily focusing on measurement and verification requirements of efficient equipment installations. His previous role lent him experience in evaluating the gross impact of both residential and commercial efficiency programs administered by utilities across the U.S. A professional goal of Brandon’s is to lessen the impact of energy consumption upon the environment and underserved communities. In his free time, he enjoys tabletop role-playing games and hiking.

David Hunter

Applications Manager

As ICAST’s Applications Manager, David supports and administers the company's applications suite. Using integrations and automation, he supports and designs evolving workflows to maximize processes. Prior to joining ICAST, David served as an implementation and technical specialist servicing healthcare clinics of all sizes. He is excited to implement applications strategy to support ICAST’s mission. In his spare time, David enjoys cooking, reading, traveling, and hiking.

Dan Golden

Grants Manager

Dan received his BS in Civil Engineering from the University of Colorado, Boulder and his MBA from the University of Colorado, Denver. He is a seasoned leader of people, partners and projects with years of experience in the environmental, energy services and renewable energy industries. Dan has served in numerous roles in Program Management, Business Development and Operations and Customer Support. Working for a nonprofit providing economic, environmental and social benefits aligns perfectly with his mindset for the 21st century. Dan loves books and music, and spends as much time outdoors as he can hiking, skiing and playing tennis.

Jeffrey Wilkinson

Business Development Officer

Jeff has been in energy efficiency savings sales since 1991. Most recently he worked Consulting design/build for lighting and controls upgrades in St. Louis and nationally. Through his position he has had the chance to work with both the public and the private sector. Jeff enjoys helping our clients through all our cost saving and quality upgrading methods. In his free time, Jeff enjoys back yard bbqs, and has been a drummer for 30+ years in area bands and at his church.

Mike Smugala

Business Development Executive

Mike Smulaga received a Business degree from Maryville University. He comes to ICAST with 10 years of low-income multifamily incentive experience with utilities, and more than 20 years of total sales experience. ICAST is the first nonprofit he has worked for, and has enjoyed what comes with it. When not on the job, Mike enjoys spending time with his family, traveling, and watching St. Louis Cardinals Baseball and St. Louis Blues Hockey Games.

James Sjostrom

Customer Solutions Specialist

Before joining ICAST, James did outreach and assessment for WattSmart Small Business Direct, and was a Lighting Project Facilitator for a lighting company for several years. James lives off of the notion that “less is more,” and is dedicating his professional career to helping the environment. He has two boys, and enjoys the outdoor life that Utah has to offer, including hiking, camping, skiing, and motorcycling.

Curt Shepard

Inside Sales Consultant

Curt supports ICAST’s business development efforts by calling on potential customers who are undertaking green upgrades to their multifamily properties. Prior to joining ICAST, he was Vice President of a nationally prominent real estate lender, specializing in multifamily financing, including low income communities. Curt has a Master’s degree in Finance and Capital Markets, and a Bachelor’s degree in Real Estate and Construction Management from the University of Denver.

Derrek Padilla

Business Development Executive

Derrek received his Associates in Bio-Technology from Central New Mexico Community College. He entered the sales field while in school, and continued to pursue sales post-graduation. Derrek discovered his appreciation for the heating and cooling industry as he took on sales roles in Albuquerque and Tucson. He was a General Sales Manager for HVAC residential and commercial products and services prior to joining ICAST, managing a hand full of salespeople. When not at work, Derrek builds classic cars and custom motorcycles.

Nate Murray

Business Development Executive

Nate is a business development executive who has previous experience working as a VP of Operations at an energy focused general contracting group, with a personal focus in selling multifamily housing. He was also a Sr. Account Manager, working with trade allies, multifamily partners, and manufactures to drive energy efficient choices leveraging participation in rebate programs. Although Nate works in Utah, he loves any opportunity to come to the Denver office to take over the ping pong table.

Stephanie Moser

Customer Service Representative

Stephanie has 10 years of experience in customer service, 4 of which were in the customer care department at Davinci Virtual Office Solutions where she learned about the customer service industry. She is a firm believer in treating others how you would want to be treated, and thinks sustainability education is vital. In her downtime, she enjoys watching football (Go Buckeyes), exploring the Wasatch Mountains in Salt Lake City, and playing games with friends.

Joe Makyta

Customer Service Representative

Joe comes to ICAST with 10+ years of experience in customer relations and sales excellence in the hospitality and automotive industries. Having most recently held the roll of Conference Service Manager in San Francisco, he is well versed in communications, technology, event organization, and systems administration. Joe is passionate about strengthening communities, servicing underserved populations, and helping mitigate the impacts of climate change. In his free time he enjoys reading, exploring nature, tinkering with small machines and spending time with his wife and cat.

Leslie Welch

Proposal Writer

Leslie is a nonprofit administrative professional with experience in proposal development, grants management, and community outreach. She graduated from Michigan State University (Go Green! Go White!) in 2017 with BA in Arts & Humanities/Public Policy. She hopes to use her skills at ICAST to provide sustainable living options and fight climate change. In her downtime, she can often be found doing grassroots community outreach, trying the newest coffee shop, and binge-watching Netflix

Eli Fields

Grants Coordinator

Eli received a BA in Environmental Studies from CU Boulder, with a minor in Atmospheric and Oceanic Sciences. He has previous grant coordinating experience interning for a nonprofit while in school, where the goal was sustainable development and entrepreneurial training in rural Zambia. Eli feels strongly about environmental work because it has meaningful impacts that we see every day. In his free time, he enjoys reading and snowboarding.

Noreen Beatley

Senior Program Advisor

Noreen has 20+ years experience working with affordable housing, energy efficiency, and sustainable community issues. Prior to joining ICAST, she directed several major HUD projects including the Location Affordability Index and the ​Community Health Index and Assessment Tool. She’s consulted for numerous national housing and community development nonprofits, and served as the Director of State and Local Policy for Enterprise Community Partners. Noreen holds a Master’s in Public Affairs from the University of Texas-Austin, and Bachelor’s in Urban Affairs and Political Science from the University of Rhode Island.

Ryan Kristoff

Business Development Manager

Ryan works in several capacities for ICAST including writing proposals for grants, creating business development opportunities, and assisting with various marketing functions. Ryan graduated with a B.A. in History and Philosophy from the University of Connecticut, and has since gained several years of nonprofit development experience. He is an AmeriCorps VISTA alumni and is passionate about making a positive impact in the world.

Leah Porter

Accounting Administrative Assistant

Leah graduated college with a Bachelor’s of Business Administration in Accounting. While in school, she held part-time jobs that involved mainly administrative tasks. Leah is passionate about the environment, and believes affordable housing is important in times and areas of high rent. In her free time, she enjoys listening to music, cooking, and reading.

Greg Elsea

Finance Manager

Greg has a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Northern Colorado, and following graduation became a Certified Public Accountant. He has 30+ years of accounting experience, majority of which has been in the construction and operations fields. Greg feels strongly about being proactive in making a better place for tomorrow, which is a major reason why he chose to work at ICAST. Greg enjoys spending time with family and friends, is an avid reader, and a Colorado Avalanche Fan.

Perla Bogado

Accounting Assistant

Perla brings over 15 years of accounting and administrative support experience to the ICAST team. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Universidad de Buenos Aires. She has previous nonprofit experience as well. Perla is bi-lingual (English and Spanish) and her hobbies include baking and gardening.

Marcia Cohen

Director of Finance & Administration

Marcia leads ICAST’s financial, accounting, and administrative functions. She is a former CPA and has experience as a commercial banker. Marcia holds a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science and a Master’s in Accounting from the University of Denver.

Brad Varnedoe

HR Generalist

Brad has spent 6+ years working in HR in the construction industry before joining ICAST. He received his Bachelor’s in Business Administration from The University of Colorado in Colorado Springs. Brad joined ICAST because he identified with the mission of the company. When not at work, he spends his time playing video games, hiking, and snowboarding.

Lynn Whitfield

Human Resources Manager

Lynn is a senior human resources professional with 25+ years of experience. A graduate from Roosevelt University with a Bachelors in Business Administration. She has a certificate in Advanced Human Resources Management from UCLA. She is excited about joining the ICAST team as part time HR Manager. In her spare time, you will find Lynn reading or antiquing for small treasures.

Suzi Bromfield

Data Analyst

Suzi works as a data analyst, collecting, analyzing, and reporting energy data, and tracking cumulative impact. Suzi has served in a variety of capacities at ICAST including administration, accounting, and operations, and is continuing to contribute to ICAST’s mission. Suzi holds a B.A. in Music from Metro State University of Denver and has worked in a range of fields in the past. In Suzi's free time, she enjoys playing music in her bands, writing, art, board games, reading, and cats.

Ian Basinger

Business Systems Analyst

Ian handles the wide array of consulting projects, including PACE, RAD, and EPC (Energy Performance Contracting), that ICAST takes on. Ian has a background in solar installation and design, and holds a NABCEP PV Installation Professional Certification. He received his B.S. in Energy-Focused Environmental Engineering from the University of Colorado at Boulder and has extensive programming and energy modeling experience. Ian is an avid biker and speaks Spanish and Portuguese.

Ben Baugher

IT Manager

As ICAST's IT Manager, Ben provides technical expertise, strategy and direction utilizing 20+ years of experience in the field. Prior to joining ICAST, Ben worked in information technology for building automation, HVAC and construction companies. He holds several technology certifications in systems engineering and administration. Ben is passionate about the positive impact technology offers in providing economic, environmental, and social benefits to communities. In his free time, Ben enjoys spending time with family.

Caleb Rockenbaugh

Engineer

Caleb provides ICAST customers with estimates of costs, savings and rebates for multifamily properties, in addition to consulting, utility allowance analysis, and measurement and verification (M&V). Caleb is the Principal and Founding Engineer with the Isideo Collective, and worked as an engineer with the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) for over a half-decade. His experience includes net zero energy residential buildings, high performance schools, as well as data centers and lab facilities, working to minimize energy use and incorporate and maximize renewable energy technologies.

Kyle Heser

Energy Efficiency Engineer

Kyle received a B.S. in Metallurgical and Materials Engineering from Colorado School of Mines and an M.S. in Renewable Energy Engineering from The University of New South Wales. He has led and participated in a number of capacity building development projects in various countries including Nicaragua, Nepal, Australia and Cambodia. Kyle brings an educational background in building science and renewable energy systems, and a year’s experience as a licensed HERS rater to his position. Outside of work, Kyle can be found either practicing or teaching yoga, or enjoying Mother Nature.

Rob Foley

Project Manager

Rob conducts energy audits, capital need assessments, and energy modeling for ICAST projects. He has worked in construction for more than 25 years. Rob holds a general contractor’s license, a BPI Building Analyst Certification, NATE certification for HVAC, and is an EPA certified renovator.

Ola Czastkiewicz

DSM Engineer

Ola received her B.A. in Environmental Engineering with a focus on Energy from the University of Colorado. While attending school, she performed energy audits for a variety of buildings on campus. Post-graduation, Ola went on to do mechanical design, drafting, and energy modeling. She then joined an engineering evaluation firm as a primary engineer, executing measurement and verification (M&V) requirements through onsites. Ola has a long history with nonprofits, facilitating the implementation and evaluation of building upgrades. In her free time, she enjoys playing ultimate Frisbee and experimenting in the kitchen.

Chuck Watkins

Solar Program Manager

Before joining ICAST, Chuck spent 5 years as the executive director of Grid Alternatives Colorado, a low income solar nonprofit company that serves residential and multifamily households. He also has energy efficiency, green homebuilding, and international disaster response experience. Chuck graduated from Auburn University with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration.  He has worked for nonprofits for 15+ years and chose ICAST for the social enterprise aspect of our work. Chuck enjoys gardening, mountain climbing, and hiking with his wife Tara and daughters Quinn & Maggie.

Lyndsay McDonald

DSM Manager

Lyndsay is an experienced renewable energy and demand side management (DSM) guru with 8+ years of utility experience. During her most recent tenure, she directly managed distributed generation rooftop solar programs in Colorado and New Mexico. She also contributed to the development and launch of several DSM programs, and managed a renewable energy portfolio (Purchase Power Agreements) consisting of over 3,200 MW of Wind, Solar and Hydro. Lyndsay holds a B.S. in Marketing and B.A. in Spanish from Metropolitan State University of Denver.

Nick Grahf

DSM Manager

Nick is a green collar professional with nearly ten years of proven success in design and implementation of demand side management (DSM) programs. By working for a nonprofit, he continues his mission to drive economic, environmental, and social change through energy efficiency. Nick holds degrees in Environmental Studies and Economics from the University of Colorado. When not working, Nick enjoys spending his time in the alpine.

Colby Vancauwelaert

DER Manager

As ICAST’s DER Manager, Colby provides overall direction and oversight of both the DER and DSM divisions of ICAST. He is a seasoned renewable energy professional with over 13 years of experience in the solar industry. Prior to joining ICAST, Colby spent the last 5 years as Vice President of Sales for Clean Energy Collective, the nation’s largest developer of community solar programs. Colby is passionate about making an impact and personally changing the direction of our society to a more sustainable future. When not working, Colby spends his time coaching youth sports, as well as hiking, kayaking and skiing with his wife and two kids.

Cindy Wagner

Senior Project Manager

Cindy manages all administrative aspects of ICAST’s green rehab projects. She has 25+ years of experience in management, administration, finance, information technology, training, end-to-end business processes, and business development. Cindy has a degree in accounting from Denver Metro State College.

Jim Vinson

Jim received his Associate’s Degree in Clean Energy Technology from Front Range Community College, and his B.S. in Construction and Clean Energy Project Development from Metropolitan State University of Denver. Jim also received a certificate in Construction Management from Colorado State University. He has over two decades of collective project management experience in clean energy technology, commercial construction, and application development. Jim is passionate about building a sustainable future through nonprofit work. In his free time, he enjoys camping, atv’ing, and skiing.

Amy Smith

Construction Administrative Assistant

Amy has ample construction administration experience, as well as experience scheduling appointments with renters/tenants. She assists with project management, doing whatever is necessary to ensure each project meets deadlines and remains within the specified budget. Amy enjoys assisting low-income housing residents reduce the cost of their utility bills, while also reducing their carbon footprint. In Amy’s spare time, she enjoys spending time with friends and family, camping and fishing. She is also an AVID sports fan (Go Utes, Broncos, Jazz and Dodgers!).

Eileen Sanchez

Construction Administrative Assistant

Eileen, a New Mexico native, has worked in administration for 25+ years in various positions; bookkeeping, office managing, recruiting and tax preparing. She also spent 15 years with Custom Home Builders. At ICAST, she manages costing and other accounting functions related to construction projects within New Mexico. Eileen is eager to help low-income communities save energy. She has a husband of 5 years, 2 daughters, and a Cocker Spaniel “Niner” (49ers fan!). She loves to serve at church, spend time with family and friends, play volleyball, and loves Minnie Mouse.

Anne Kubicek

Purchasing Agent

Anne received her BA from a nonprofit university in Illinois, and has 25+ years in the purchasing arena of the residential/commercial construction industry. She has a passion for the environment, and thinks working towards a more sustainable world is vital. When Anne is not working, she enjoys working with her four horses, trail riding, motorcycling, and traveling.

Jason Hampton

Junior Construction Site Supervisor

Jason has 15 years of experience in the construction industry, managing projects and performing carpentry work. ICAST is the first nonprofit he has worked for, but is eager to use his construction knowledge to help under-served communities. Jason is a husband and father of three kids. He enjoys traveling, playing basketball (especially with his kids), and shooting pool. He also likes to read success books to help with his personal and professional development.

Bradley Frederick

Construction Site Supervisor

Bradley has worked in the construction industry for 25+ years, 10 of which have been in the nonprofit sector. In his previous nonprofit role, he was a manager for both a Refugee Resettlement program and a Homeless Services program. Bradley has certifications in Green Retrofit Construction, and is a Journeyman Painter. He has been able to gain skills throughout his years in the field by doing a variety of projects and working for a general contractor. ICAST has given Bradley the opportunity to combine his skills as a Construction Site Coordinator while managing energy efficiency projects throughout the multifamily community in Utah.

Nick Caruso

Field Project Manager

Nick is the Field Project manager for Salt Lake City, Utah. Nick has been in the construction industry for the last twenty years focusing on projects ranging from residential, commercial, and new construction exteriors. He has been expanding his knowledge of alternative energy systems from hands on application from building off the grid cabins. In his spare time, he can be found skiing, fishing, camping, or whitewater kayaking.

Kimberly Bridgers

Office Administrative Assistant

Berly has spent over 30 years in the administration and customer service fields, starting with her tenure in the US Armed Forces.  She joined the ICAST team to help contribute to her community in a meaningful way.  In her spare time, Berly enjoys caring for her plants and animals, as well as participating in the yearly MS Bike ride.

John Elliott

Director of Operations

John manages the operations of ICAST’s Multifamily Building Retrofit program. He has extensive experience in green construction, project scope development, subcontractor relations, process mapping and systems development and has been a member of the committee for the Dept. of Energy to develop energy efficiency training for managers of multifamily properties. John received his B.S. in computer science and business management from Metro State University, and his B.S. in natural resource management from Colorado State University.

Monica Paici

Marketing Director

Combine creativity and discipline and you have Monica Paici. Serving as the Marketing Advisor at ICAST, Monica takes on challenging responsibilities, such as digital and social marketing. With 25+ years in the marketing world, she has a practiced hand that creates solutions for even the most difficult of projects. When she is not exploring opportunities to advance ICAST’s mission, she loves to cook. Ask her about how to bake the perfect chocolate cookie. It’s her secret talent.

Josselyn Cool

Marketing Coordinator

Josie is a skilled graphic designer and brings a sense of consistency and quality control to the ICAST brand. She is a graduate of The Art Institute of Colorado, spending the first 15 years of her career working in design, print, and production. In her free time, Josie is a woodworker and plays in several local bands.

Emma Laub

Marketing Coordinator

Emma is a graduate from the University of Colorado, Boulder with a major in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology, and a Business minor. She brings a knowledge of science, as well as a passion for marketing to the ICAST team. Emma got her start in the renewable energy industry as an intern at a solar energy organization, and was then an intern for ICAST before becoming a full time Marketing Coordinator. Emma is a Colorado native, has a passion for sports, and loves being outdoors whenever she can.

Edward McIlvain

Director of Programs 

Ed manages ICAST’s various rehab and grant programs. He was a Product Marketing Manager for Arrow Electronics before he decided he wanted shift gears to work in a career focused on sustainability. Ed completed a Master’s Degree in Environmental Policy and Management at the University of Denver. He enjoys volunteering at Swallow Hill Music Association, Colorado Mountain Biking Association, and Rocky Mountain Wild.

Jeff Hargis

Technical Project Manager

Jeff received his BS in Electrical Engineering from Ohio State and his Master’s in Electrical Engineering from the University of Colorado. Jeff worked in computer development at Hewlett Packard for 20+ years as an electrical engineer and engineering manager. He has been very active working in community development as a volunteer with Engineers Without Borders for several years. Jeff is a certified PMI Project Management Professional. In his free time he enjoys outdoor activities in the mountains, especially mountain biking.

Quinn Keenan

Energy Efficiency Analyst

Quinn received a BA in Mathematics from SUNY Geneseo and an MS in Engineering Sciences from the University at Buffalo. During his Master’s, he participated in a carbon reduction challenge, and assisted in research of a new insulation product. Overall, Quinn’s education piqued his interest in green building technology which led him to become a LEED Green Associate. His major professional goal is to combat climate change by making society more sustainable. Outside of work, he enjoys kickboxing, weightlifting, listening to music, and being outdoors.
