ICAST Awarded Grant from Albuquerque Community Foundation
ICAST is excited to announce that it was selected to receive its first grant award from Albuquerque Community Foundation’s Emergency Action Fund for its New Mexico green job initiative. In light of COVID-19 and the resulting economic downturn, ICAST has retooled its Green Construction Careers (GC2) initiative to serve the greater Albuquerque community impacted by COVID.

More than 80 percent of renters surveyed in AMLI Residential’s fourth annual study on sustainable living believe that green living is beneficial to their well-being.
AMLI surveyed 4,891 of its residents across the U.S. in its annual Sustainable Living Index, which asked renters a variety of questions relating to sustainability, environmentalism, and green initiatives in multifamily living.

ICAST Adds New Board of Directors
ICAST has added four new members to our Board of Directors. These members include Felipe Rael, Executive Director at the Greater Albuquerque Housing Partnership; Tony Hernandez, President/CEO at Innovative Action Consulting, LLC; Tara Rollins, Executive Director at the Utah Housing Coalition; and Kamal Ali, CEO of BBVA in New Mexico. We are pleased to have these new members advising ICAST on its programs and services so we can continue to grow and serve additional community members.

Natural Gas as a Bridge Fuel to the Future? Not Anymore
There was a time not so long ago when EV advocates assumed plug-in hybrids would be the bridge technology between conventional cars and battery electrics. The thinking was that battery prices would remain so high that fully electric cars would take a long time to go mainstream. But a funny thing happened on the way to the EV revolution. Battery prices dropped faster than anyone thought possible, weakening the case for plug-in hybrids to the point where today many people smile at the idea of PHEVs.
